Companies that export merchandise from the U.S. may be entitled to participate in the Duty Drawback program. Drawback is the recovery of up to 99% of duties and fees paid on imported materials that are later exported from the U.S. either in the same condition or as a component of a finished article.

Customs estimates that billions of dollars in customs duties and fees eligible for drawback recovery go unclaimed each year. This introductory course is designed to provide you with the tools necessary to assess your drawback eligibility and to decide if a program is right for your company.

Topics to be covered:

  • Manufacturing, unused and rejected merchandise drawback

  • Drawback audits & recordkeeping requirements

  • Privilege & ruling application and approval process

  • Calculating your potential drawback recovery

  • “Drawback Simplification Law” highlights
