CBP’s mission is to safeguard America's borders while enhancing the Nation's global economic competitiveness. Importers’ responsibility to use reasonable care in their day-to-day activities includes understanding the most common importer errors, preparing for a focused assessment, and understanding how the Priority Trade Issues impact daily affairs. Other topics to be discussed include: Classification, valuation, record keeping, post-entry activity, and origin determination.

We’ll close this session with a workshop using the ACE portal, so bring your laptop and make sure your login and password are active. We’ll do some hands-on work with your company’s data, run and modify some reports, and learn how to use the ACE system to augment your auditing work.
