Description:
Duty minimization strategies such as Duty Relief Programs, TIBs, MPF Management, Duty Drawback, Bonded Warehouses, and Foreign Trade Zones save real money during the import process, as do Free Trade Agreements which, despite having been around in one form or another for about 40 years, remain one of the most complex, misunderstood, and misapplied customs strategies used by importers and exporters today.

Presented by:
Norm Lubeck, Esq.
Senior Manager, Global Trade Advisory Services
Norm joined Tradewin in 2011. He has held the position of Trade Counsel for a logistics management firm and managed the Trade Compliance departments for several multinational corporations. Norm's technical background includes Import and Export Compliance, Free Trade Programs, C-TPAT implementation, as well as a broad spectrum of international trade topics. “Compliance is easy to push to the side. It is not always in the forefront of your operation. It’s not flashy or exciting. It may be considered an expense that doesn’t generate any revenue, it is so easy to say 'I will get back to Customs tomorrow.' However, the ramifications of being non-compliant are outstanding.”

- Nara Mitchell, Practice Manager, Tradewin
